On the occasion of the German translation of the biography "Max Perutz and the Secret of Life" published by Braumüller Verlag, the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Max Perutz Labs invite you to a presentation of the book and a discussion. Klaus Taschwer, science editor of the daily newspaper Der Standard, talks to Perutz biographer Georgina Ferry about the life, work and legacy of the Austro-British biochemist. The conversation takes place in English. Cornelius Obonya reads from the German version. The event takes place as part of the supporting program for the exhibition "Breathing at High Altitude" - Life and Science of Max F. Perutz. The exhibition can be seen in the Arkadenhof of the University of Vienna until June 15, 2022 with free admission.

In 1942, Stefan Heym published his first novel in New York under the title "Hostages" (German: "The Glasenapp case"), which immediately became a bestseller. Stefan Heym was born in Chemnitz in 1913 as the son of a Jewish merchant family. His real name was Helmut Flieg, but he, who saw himself as a “critical Marxist”, had taken the pseudonym Stefan Heym out of consideration for his family.

Cornelius Obonya and the Viennese instrumental soloists interpret selected musical gems of the fin de siècle and venture into the worlds of Arthur Schnitzler, Igor Stravinsky, Alexander Zemlinsky, Erwin Schulhoff, Alban Berg and Fritz Kreisler with a confident playfulness.
Stravinsky later reworked the play "The Soldier's Story", written in 1917 for a traveling theater and based on two Russian fairy tales, into a trio version.
